Who we are

Total Journal is developed by Benjamin Sentz under the Sentzei Studios name. This policy explains how information is handled when you use Total Journal or contact its support team.

Information stored on your device

Journal entries, habits, tasks, planner items, settings, and fitness records are stored locally on your device. Sentzei Studios does not operate a server that receives or stores this core app data.

Optional Google Drive backup

Google Drive backup is optional. If you choose to connect your Google account, Google Sign-In processes your basic profile and authorization credentials. Total Journal displays and caches your email address on your device and sends a backup containing your Total Journal data to your own Google Drive.

A backup may include journal entries, habits, tasks, planner items, settings, and fitness records. This information is used only to provide the backup and restore actions you request. Total Journal requests the Google Drive permission that lets it create and update files it created or that you opened with the app; it cannot browse unrelated files in your Drive.

Google handles information under the Google Privacy Policy.

Export and sharing

Local exports leave Total Journal only when you explicitly choose a destination in the operating system’s share sheet. Password-protected exports use AES-GCM encryption. Total Journal cannot recover a forgotten backup password.

Support requests

If you submit the support form on this website, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, device details, and message. We use it only to investigate your request, reply to you, and maintain a reasonable record of the resolution.

The website is hosted by Netlify, which processes support-form submissions on our behalf. Netlify handles that information under its privacy policy. Please do not include journal entries, backup passwords, or other sensitive personal content in a support message.

Retention and deletion

On-device data remains until you delete it, replace it by importing a backup, or remove the app. A cached Google email address is removed when you disconnect Google Drive. Google Drive backups remain in your Drive until you delete them there. Automatic backup can be disabled and Google Drive can be disconnected at any time in Total Journal’s Settings.

Support messages are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve requests, prevent repeated issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. You may ask us to delete a support request through the support form.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for information within our control. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so you should protect your device, Google account, and any exported backup files.

Children

Total Journal is a general productivity app and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Total Journal changes. Material updates will be reflected here and, when appropriate, in the app or its App Store listing. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
