Who we are

Baldur's Gate Editor is developed by Benjamin Sentz under the Sentzei Studios name. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the app.

Information we collect

Baldur's Gate Editor does not collect personal information or usage data. It has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking, telemetry, or third-party data-collection software. Sentzei Studios does not operate a server that receives app data.

Save-file access and editing

The app accesses a Baldur’s Gate save folder only after you select it through Apple’s Files interface. It reads the selected save files locally so you can review and modify supported game values. Your original save is not uploaded or transmitted.

When you save changes, Baldur's Gate Editor creates a separate edited copy alongside the selected save. The original save remains unchanged. You control those files using Baldur's Gate Editor, the Files app, or the game itself.

Information stored on your device

Baldur's Gate Editor stores your selected game preference and system bookmarks that allow it to reopen save folders you previously chose. This information remains on your device and is used only to provide the app’s save-editing features.

Network access and third parties

Baldur's Gate Editor does not require an internet connection and does not send app or save-file data over a network. The app does not use third-party services that receive data from it.

Retention and deletion

You can replace a remembered folder by choosing another one. Removing Baldur's Gate Editor deletes its local preferences and folder bookmarks. Save files and edited copies stored outside the app remain in their existing locations until you delete them.

Support requests

The Baldur's Gate Editor support page is separate from the app. If you submit its form, Sentzei Studios receives the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, device details, and message. This information is used only to investigate your request, reply to you, and keep a reasonable record of the resolution. Please do not submit save files or sensitive personal content.

The website is hosted by Netlify, which processes form submissions on our behalf under its privacy policy. Support messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve requests and meet applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion through the support form.

Children

Baldur's Gate Editor is not directed to children, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Unofficial utility

Baldur's Gate Editor is an unofficial, fan-made utility. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the owners, publishers, or developers of Baldur’s Gate or Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition. All related names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if Baldur's Gate Editor’s features or privacy practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
